Ferdinand Verdonck

Mr. Verdonck holds a law degree from the KU Leuven and degrees in economics from the KU Leuven and the University of Chicago.. His professional experience is based on his work, mainly in financial services where he was the managing director of Almanij, and earlier with KBC and Lazard Frères and also in manufacturing (Bekaert NV). Currently he is a director of Galapagos N.V., JP Morgan European Investment Trust, Groupe SNEF, Laco Information Services and Virtus Funds.

Philippe Van Holle

Mr. Van Holle is Head of Celgene Europe. He has 30 years of marketing and sales experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Most notably he was responsible at Amgen Europe for the commercial roll-out of Neupogen® and Epogen®, the two first biotech blockbuster products. Subsequently he served as an executive at Genzyme Europe, overseeing the commercialization of Genzyme’s orphan drugs. In 2005, he joined Celgene as Head of Celgene Europe. Over the past few years Celgene has grown into the fourth largest biotechnology company worldwide with a market capitalization of approximately $25 billion.

Sander van Deventer

Dr. van Deventer, one of AMT’s co-founders, chairs AMT’s Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. van Deventer holds a degree in Medicine as well as a Ph.D. from the University of Amsterdam. He was Professor and Head of the Department of Experimental Medicine, Chairman at the Department of Gastroenterology of the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam from 2002 to 2004, and subsequently Professor of Experimental Medicine at the University of Amsterdam Medical School until 2008. He has over 15 years experience in biotechnology product development. He is the author of more than 350 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, and he serves as an advisor to regulatory authorities including the EMEA and FDA. Currently, he is Professor of Translational Gastroenterology at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), and a partner of Forbion Capital Partners. He serves on the boards of Cardoz AS, and Argos Biotherapeutics.

Joseph M. Feczko

Joseph Feczko was formerly Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Pfizer, Inc., and a member of the Executive Leadership Team with global responsibilities for all aspects of the company’s medical, regulatory and safety activities. Dr. Feczko is chairman of Cardoz Pharmaceuticals AB, and a director of Keryx Biopharmaceuticals, Inc., as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health, the International Longevity Center and the New York Academy of Medicine. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Accordia Global Health Foundation and the Technical Expert Committee for the International Trachoma Initiative of the Task Force for Global Health. He is also a member of the Governing Board of the Technology Strategy Board of the United Kingdom.

François Meyer

François Meyer was formerly General Director for Research and Development at RPR and then Aventis Pharma, France until 2002 and Director-General of Aventis’ Gene Therapy Division, Gencell, until his retirement in 2006.
